Amorphous Transformer | The Secret to High-Efficiency Inverters | JLCPCB

Amorphous Transformer | The Secret to High-Efficiency Inverters | JLCPCB

Recently, I bought a few amorphous transformer cores. Actually, I learned about them a few years ago, but I couldn't find them at my local store. It wasn't until now that I got to experiment with them, and I am completely convinced. The efficiency of this core is very high, it can operate at high frequencies, and it can handle up to 5kW with just one core having a diameter of 64mm.

This is the circuit of a simple 12 volt battery charger for Lead Acid battery. It gives max 12 volt and 20 Amps current for quick charging of the battery. If the battery is partially discharged, full charge will be attained in one hour.

The circuit uses a 0-14 volt 5A to 20 Ampere Step down transformer and a 35 Amps Bridge rectifier module to convert AC to DC. Since pulsed DC is good for Lead Acid battery, a low value smoothing capacitor.
