on video Synchronous Generator Working Principle || How Does An Alternator Work?

Synchronous Generator Working Principle || How Does An Alternator Work?

According to faraday, when we rotate a wire inside a magnetic field, an electromotive force is generated in it. we can also call this force voltage.

To generate electricity we have two mechanisms, one stator winding is set on the armature and the other stator winding is set on the stator itself.

When we talk about small generators, the armature winding is always mounted on the rotor, but in a thermal power plant or a large station, the stator winding of a synchronous generator remains mounted on the stator, due to which heavy current and voltage can be easily collected.

In this video, the working principle of the synchronous generator has been explained with the help of 3d animation. Apart from this, the working of salient pole synchronous generator and cylindrical pole synchronous generator and synchronous motor has been explained in detail.

ABOUT THIS TOPIC

synchronous generator :- it is also known as alternator and ac generator it has two main parts of stator and Rotor armature winding is placed on stator and field winding is placed on the Rotor DC supply given to the Rotor and rotor rotates with the prime mover Rota Rota address field also rotates and creates a rotating magnetic field

When rotating magnetic field cuts the armature winding which stationary at the slots of a stator then EMF induced in the armature winding from Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction.

there are different types of alternator which categories on the basis of their applications like brushless alternator marine alternator auto miles alternator radio alternator

in power plants large size synchronous generator is used in synchronous generator salient pole rotor is used meaning of salient age projecting poles are projected from the surface.
