How to make an induction heater, 2 kW induction heater
Here I take up induction heating with a little more detail and present some photos of the first experiments.
Unlike the ZVS induction module which requires a low voltage but a lot of amperage (48 Volts +/- 40 Amp to have +/- 2 Kw) this approach of a switching power supply approaching the "Boost" type offers us this same power of 2000 watts from 120 vac or 240 vac mains. This eliminates the 12 Volt batteries in series, or the SMPS power supply capable of providing such amperage which is, more often than not, very expensive. With this approach inspired by an 1800 W induction hob, we save a lot of space and weight for the same power!
The 48v 20A (1000w) induction kit has been enhanced by the installation of air/water cooling.
