See the best grounding for a board without IDR and DPS
See how to assemble a single-phase residential QDC (circuit distribution board) using a circuit breaker, IDR (residual differential switch), DPS (surge protection device).
Circuit distribution boards can be two-phase, three-phase or single-phase like the one that was assembled. The process of installing the components is similar but has particularities.
The circuit breaker together with the DPS and IDR provide good protection for your electrical installation and for the people who will use it! Installing a DPS on the switchgear is essential and is an excellent cost-benefit security investment.
Among the objectives of this video, we highlight:
- Demonstrate how to assemble a QDC composed of DPS and IDR.
We cover the following items throughout this video:
- Present the components and how the components will be placed in sequence.
- Highlight the DIN rail fixing.
- Connect the power cables (coming from the meter) to the main circuit breaker input.
- The main neutral (coming from the meter) must be connected to the input of the first DPS and derived to the neutral pole of the IDR.
- From the main circuit breaker output, connect the phase cables to the DPS and branch to the IDR (bipolar system).
- From the output of the three DPS's, connect grounding cables to the grounding bus (light green or green and yellow color).
- Supply the grounding bar with the main grounding cable.
- Feed the input of the circuit breakers with a bipolar comb bus, this bus must start at the output of the IDR poles.
- From the output of the circuit breakers, connect the cables that will be taken to the circuits.
- From the neutral output pole of the IDR, supply the main neutral bus.
- For each QDC circuit to have an individual neutral cable, these must be connected to the main neutral bus.
- For each QDC circuit to have an individual grounding cable, these must be connected to the grounding bus.
- Retighten all QDC screws.
