The resolver is a sensor used in a servo drive system to give information about rotor position and rotational speed. As a feedback device, it bridges the gap with a closed-loop motor control system.
A resolver is a rotary transformer used to measure degrees of rotation. Resolvers can loosely be described as the analog equivalent to a rotary encoder, and provide position and speed feedback for a variety of industrial applications.
