Wire-to-Wire Connection Three-phase switchgear with SPD DR and Tripolar Circuit Breaker TNS Prof Jadson Caetano
Electrical drawing of the wire-to-wire connection diagram of the THREE-PHASE SWITCH with SPD, with Prof Jadson Caetano, using the three phases (R,S,T), the neutral and the protective conductor [in general, TNS or TT grounding system (in this specific case, 3 phases would have DPS going to neutral and neutral would have another DPS going to ground)].
The TT scheme has a power point directly grounded, with the installation masses connected to grounding electrode(s) that are electrically different from the power supply grounding electrode (figure 4).
6.3.5.2.6 Protection against electric shock and compatibility between SPD and DR devices
The following requirements a) and b) must be met:
a) no failure of the DPS, even if occasional, shall compromise the effectiveness of the protection against
shocks provided to a circuit or installation;
b) when the SPD are installed, as indicated in 6.3.5.2.1, next to the point of entry of the electrical line into the building or at the main distribution board, as close as possible to the point of entry, and the installation is provided with a one or more DR devices, the SPD can be positioned upstream or downstream of the DR device(s), subject to the following conditions:
- When the installation is TT and the SPD are positioned upstream of the DR device(s), the SPD must be connected according to diagram 3 (see figure 13);
- When SPDs are positioned downstream of the DR device(s), these DR devices, whether
whether instantaneous or timed, must have immunity to surge currents of no.
minimum 3 kA (8/20 Ps).
