Capacitor calculations - In this video we learn how the basics calculations for capacitors, capacitor charge, capacity, capacitor discharge time, capacitor charge time , capacitor time constant, series capacitors, parallel capacitors, how capacitors work in DC electronics circuits, basic electronics capacitor circuits.
This physics video tutorial explains how to solve series and parallel capacitor circuit problems such as calculating the electric charge, voltage, and potential energy stored across each capacitor in the DC circuit network. This video contains a few examples and practice problems with the equations / formulas and calculations needed to answer questions related to this topic.

How to Find the Total Capacitance of Capacitors in Series & Parallel Orientations
Step 1: Identify the smallest combination of capacitors that are either only in series or only in parallel.
Step 2: Use the appropriate formula (depending on whether the combination is in series or in parallel) to determine the equivalent capacitance of the combination identified in Step 1.
Step 3: Replace all the component capacitors with a capacitor of capacitance
calculated in step 2. Repeat Steps 1 through 3 till all capacitors in the circuit have been replaced by a single capacitor, whose capacitance gives the value of the total of the capacitance of the combinations of capacitors.
