A teleruptor is a controlled switch in an electrical circuit. It allows the supply of a circuit (for example lighting circuit) by one or more push buttons which can be placed in various places.
This control device replaces back-and-forth assemblies when there are more than two control points, it was then necessary to install between them one (or more) connection permutator, a kind of switch with 4 terminals which reversed the current from wire A to wire B and vice versa. A remote control switch can be controlled by an almost unlimited number of control buttons. It is advisable to be limited to 15 push buttons when these include an indicator light or indicator light.
The Legrand remote control switch is also available in a silent version, which allows you to avoid noise pollution if your electrical panel is located in a place where you would be disturbed in your home. Thanks to the Legrand silent remote control switch, you have the assurance of being able to turn your lights on and off from several chosen locations, in complete discretion.
To install the Legrand remote control switch on the electrical panel, you must follow these steps:
• install the Legrand remote switch in the electrical panel
• connect the Legrand remote control
• finalize the installation
Perform the key steps to install the Legrand impulse relay in an electrical panel:
• install the Legrand remote control switch in the electrical panel:
- switch off the current at the subscriber's circuit breaker and ensure that there is no voltage at its output
- Lock out the circuit breaker using a specific padlock
- remove the electrical panel cover
- install the 10A circuit breaker on the rail
- install the remote switch on the rail, next to the protection circuit breaker of the lighting circuit concerned (installation possible in the middle of the row)
• connect the Legrand remote control:
- connect the phase wire of the circuit breaker to terminal 1 of the remote control switch and the neutral wire of the circuit breaker to terminal A1 of the remote control switch
- connect terminal 2 of the remote control switch to the lighting circuit concerned, then connect the neutral of this circuit to the tapping terminal of the circuit breaker
- the push buttons activating the Legrand remote control must be connected on one side to the phase, at the output of the associated circuit breaker, and on the other to terminal A2 of the remote control.
• finalize the installation:
- remove the padlock on the general circuit breaker
- restore power
The installation of your Legrand remote control switch is complete: thanks to the remote control switch, you can now switch your lighting on and off easily from several different places by pressing one of the push buttons!
