It aims to demonstrate the speed change that happens with an open interaxle power divider as well as the speed difference in an open axle carrier. The use of a locker is demonstrated as well showing that the front and rear axle will need to turn at the same speed due to the dog tooth lock system used in the inter-axle differential.
It was made for training of technicians using cutaway photos, training aids or shop space of The Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
