An electrical inverter, more commonly called "source inverter" by distributors of electrical equipment, is a device allowing access to a second source of energy in the event of a fault in the main source.
It guarantees the correct operation of an installation by switching the main source (network) to a secondary emergency source (generator).
An electric inverter is mainly used on installations requiring a continuous power supply without any failure (hospitals, emergency call centres, police stations, police stations, security systems in certain public buildings/establishments, etc.).
Electrical inverters can be of 3 types:
Manual switch: the user must himself switch on the electrical switch (the source switch) on the second, so-called “emergency” source.
